We will hold a special practice session for the “Bokuto Ni Yoru Kihon Keikoho” instruction for the people in charge of teaching this technique at your Dojo. The SCKO Spring promotion exam is quickly approaching. As you are aware, this has recently become a requirement for the Kenshis testing for 3 to 1 Kyu.

Since we do not have the time to practice during our regular Godogeiko sessions, we will have a special practice session with the instructor or the person in charge. We will share our knowledge, and each of us can bring back that knowledge to our own Dojos.

Each Dojo, please send at least one (1) and maximum of (5) Kenshi who would be in charge of teaching the “Bokuto Ni Yoru Kihon Keikoho” at your Dojo.

There is a change in the time for the March 18 Godogeiko (Same Day, but longer hours). We will have Shinpan Seminar instead of regular Godogeiko. The reason for that is because this is the only day that we can reserve the gym for the entire day, before the Memorial day tournament, and we need a full day for the seminar.

OLD:

March 18, 9:00 – 11:45 Regular Godogeiko

NEW (Same Day, but longer hours):

March 18

9:00 – 3:30: Shinpan Seminar (One hour break in between for lunch – Bring your own lunch)

3:45 – 5:00: Jigeiko

1)      2 Dan and above: Shinpan Training + Shiai Players

2)      1 Dan and below: Shiai Players

• 9:30 – 12:00: Shinpan Seminar Part 1
• 12:00 – 1:00: Lunch (Bring your own lunch)
• 1:00 – 3:30: Shinpan Seminar Part 2

Highlights of this Shinpan Seminar:

1)      Shinpan training for 2 Dan and above Kenshis .  The purpose of having the 2 Dans to participate in this seminar is to get the 2 Dans to be ready for Shinpan when they become 3 Dan. I strongly advise all 2 Dans to participate.

2)      We will have groups separated by ranks, with separate instructors.

3)      All participants should do both Shiai and Shinpan training. By doing Shinpan, you can find out what the Shinpans are looking for, and that will improve your Shiai skills.

4)      All Kenshis are welcome to attend, and specially Kenshis below 2 Dan should participate to do Shinai. This is a great chance to do many Shiais for everyone. The more you do Shiai, the more you get better in Shiai.

5)      Kenshis without Bogu are welcome to watch.

Important!!

1)      Bring your own Shinpanki (Shinpan Flags) – Make sure to have your name on

2)      Bring your own Tasuki (Red/White markers to be placed in your back during Shiai) – Make sure to have your name on

3)      No lunch will be served. Bring your own lunch!

4)      We will have Jigeiko at the end of the day, so everyone bring your Bogu.

1. Age group Determination:

Members shall pay dues according to their age as of 1/1/2012 for all paid registrations by 2/29/2012. All submissions after 3/15/2012 will pay dues based on age of the registration date.

Only accept Check (no Cash) and make payable to “SCKO”. Each Dojo must collect all fees from individuals and submit one Dojo check to SCKO by 2/29/2012. SCKO will NOT accept checks from individuals.

• The individual championships (except for the Senior and Mudansha Divisions) will
utilize a “double-elimination” seeding format in which each player participates in
an initial “seeding” round to determine their placement (either first or second) in the
championship round. In the event there is an odd number of participants, a random
participant shall be automatically placed in the seeding round.
• Detailed information on the Rules & Regulations for the 2011 AUSKF National
Championships to come.
